Hawaii Travel Big Island Kauai Aloha

The picture above was probably the last one taken of my mom and dad together. His name was William Keith Martindale. He died on Jan. 7, 1993 nearly nine years after the death of my mother Jennie Lee Martindale (Turner). She died on January 16, 1984. We had dinner with them and the rest of the family the day prior and I can still see her waving goodbye from the front door like she always did. Little did I know that I would never see her alive again. Dad lived by himself for the duration of his life in Canton, Illinois. He missed Mom terribly. I take comfort that he is with her again in heaven. They were very common people, both living through the great depression and two world wars. Indeed they were part of the "greatest generation" as Tom Brokaw liked to call that generation in his book. I still miss them terribly but know I too will see and talk with them again.

The picture below is of the two of us on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is a wonderful place. Everyone should see it.

We have one son Joshua, born March 8, 1981. He someday hopes to be in the music industry. Above he is pictured with his girlfriend Laura.

The picture below was taken on our wedding day Dec. 23, 1978. It was taken by my brother-in-law Phillip Keefauver. We had a new 1978 Trams Am but left it at home. We knew our friends would decorate it for free so we drove the old 72 Catalina. This photo was taken at the Free Methodist Church in Lewistown, Il. where we were married.

The picture below is of my brother Terry and I taken in 1956 according to the photo stamp. I am the little one. We were sitting on the front steps outside our house in Smithfield, Illinois.

Here is a picture of Josh on our new 3 wheeler in 1982. That thing was a lot of fun but it was dangerous, especially with the lifestyle I had back then!
